Rustic Italian cuisine and a killer wine list set this trattoria apart.

THE DISH

Surprisingly, this is where you’ll find one of the best steaks in town. First, this NY Strip is coated in sage, rosemary, thyme, and sea salt, then grilled to smoke in all that herby goodness. Next, it’s finished with a drizzle of sweet and savory housemade Negroni vinaigrette, featuring a cooked down concoction of Campari, sweet vermouth, red wine vinegar, and orange juice. Served over a bed of garlicky broccoli rabe, it comes pretty close to perfection.

SIP ON THIS

On a warm night, nothing quite beats sipping a Negroni slushie at one of Sette Luna’s outdoor tables. Frozen drinks not your style? Try another Italian-inspired cocktail like the ultra trendy Aperol Spritz or an Amaro-laced Sardinian Iced Tea. And for wine lovers, you can’t go wrong with a glass of the Evaluna, an Italian Cabernet that’s one of owner Josh Palmer’s absolute favorites.

MUST TRY

You won’t find it on the menu, but the artichoke appetizer—only available in summer—is one of Sette Luna’s most popular. And for good reason: It’s poached in white wine, then roasted with garlic, olive oil, crushed red pepper, and breadcrumbs for a tender yet crispy finish that delivers a smile-inducing punch of flavor with every bite. People beg for this recipe, says Palmer.

INSIDER TIP

Sette Luna is reinstating its monthly Beer Vs Wine Dinners! The chef comes up with a small plate menu and in-house beverage experts pair each plate with what they consider the perfect beer or wine. For every dish, guests rate whether they think the beer or wine is a better match, and at the end of the night, one category reigns supreme. Watch their Facebook page for updates.
