THE DISH

While Grumpy’s may be known as a no-frills roadhouse that serves up some of the best gumbo, pulled pork, and ribs you’ve ever tasted, it also defies expectations with surprisingly sophisticated specials. Watch the menu for artful entreés like this Surf ‘n Turf inspired dish featuring filet mignon on a bed of grilled asparagus and potatoes, topped with a hefty portion of lobster and grilled shrimp.

FUN FACT

Grumpy’s uses the old-school method of rubbing meat with house spices and then slowly smoking it in the hickory wood pit for up to 12 hours. The wood pit is going every day, meaning your meal is freshly smoked—and the restaurant smells incredible.

WHAT’S NEW

Grumpy’s got its start with a concession stand over 25 years ago serving up pork and Jambalaya—and now they’ve come full circle. The restaurant recently rolled out their Worldy Q food truck, which is stocked with a wood pit cooker and serves up BBQ with an Asian, Caribbean, and Jamaican twist. Find it at dozens of local festivals and events, or even rent it for your next party! They also have 8 catering trucks for events.

Every Friday and Saturday the fireplace dining area is transformed into a stage for great bands to serenade you with free live music. We recommend sipping on a Strawberry Daiquiri or a beer from the recently expanded collection of craft brews—including one from Allentown-based brewery Hijinx—while you’re at it.
