THE DISH
New to the menu, the Pork Belly Ra-mein—a hybrid of ramen and lo mein—features ramen noodles, sous-vide pork belly, shiitake mushrooms, edamame, grilled scallions, housemade purple kimchi, ponzu citrus sauce, and the fabled 60-minute egg. This glorious combination of textures and flavors is basically a party in your mouth, triggering every happiness-inducing taste receptor.
FUN FACT
Can’t get out of work in time for a cheap drink? In addition to a traditional happy hour on Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:30 p.m to 6:30 p.m., you can swing by The Mint for reverse happy hour Tuesday through Saturday from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Grab a $5 draft, $8 glass of wine, or a potent $9 cocktail like the Upper West Side, a summery twist on the Manhattan featuring dandelion bitters.
MUST TRY
The brunch! On the last Sunday of every month, The Mint hosts its insanely popular themed brunch, each time featuring playfully nostalgic menu items such as Wookie Cookies (yep, that’s a Star Wars reference), and whimsical touches such as menus that are made to look like scrolls (Harry Potter, anyone?).
INSIDER TIP
Going meat-free? Chef and owner Domenic Lombardo always has at least three vegan options on the menu that are made with intention and never feel like a pasta-and-veggies afterthought. A crowd favorite app for herbivores and omnivores alike is the Chickpea Fries, served with a drool-worthy, housemade curried ketchup. Gluten-free? They also make gluten-free cornbread and biscuits that taste totally authentic.
