Apple Cider Glaze
Presented by Copperhead Grille
INGREDIENTS
- 2 qts. apple cider
- 6 oz. Angry Orchard hard cider (Crisp Apple or Traditional Dry)
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp. dried thyme
Cornstarch slurry:
- 4 T cornstarch
- 6 T water
DIRECTIONS
In a large saucepan or kettle, cook apple cider, hard cider, apple cider vinegar and thyme over high heat until the volume is reduced by half. Strain through a fine colander or sieve to remove the thyme. Return to the saucepan and whisk in cornstarch slurry, cooking over medium heat until liquid thickens. Use as a finishing glaze on your favorite cuts of roasted or grilled pork. Refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container for up to a week. At the restaurant, this glaze is served over a 12-ounce frenched pork chop garnished with candied bacon.
