Spice Rubbed Smoker Chicken & Brisket

Ingredients 

Spice Rub:
• 1/4 cup cumin
• 1/4 cup paprika
• 1/4 cup garlic powder
• 1/4 cup onion powder
• 1/4 cup chili powder
• 1/4 cup brown sugar
• 1/2 cup kosher salt
• 1 1/2 T cayenne pepper
• 1 1/2 T ground black pepper

Meat:
• 2 whole chickens, butterflied
• 2 lb. beef brisket
• Barbecue sauce

Directions

Mix spice rub ingredients in a bowl under fully blended, then rub down the chickens and brisket until thoroughly coated. Place meat in a smoker heated to 250°F for 2 hours. Remove chickens and brisket from the smoker, place in a large pan, and roast in an oven at 375°F for an additional 2 hours. Allow meat to rest for 5–10 minutes before carving. Top with your favorite barbecue sauce.
