The Scene
This classic eighteenth-century country inn delivers character and charm, from the new dining patio and the grand hand-carved oak back bar in the full-service tavern to a cozy dining room and spacious banquet room. Tucked in the back of the restaurant is the ornate Victorian-style Jessica’s Tea Room. A busy event calendar includes live music and interactive themed dinners.
The Cuisine
Regional American cuisine that focuses on local foods encompasses tastes for every appetite. Graze on appetizers like Bonzai Shrimp, Crab Arrancine and homemade soups, or dig into such entrees as Beer Can Chicken and Waffles, Jaeger Schnitzel and Limoncello Shrimp. A separate Tea Lunch menu features such specialties as scones, quiches and savory puffed pastry blossoms.
Q&A with Mark Prostko, chef/owner
What was your first restaurant job?
I worked as a dishwasher as a kid. They were short one day and moved me up the line. Then my mom’s friend who was a chef gave me a job. Later I went to culinary school at Johnson and Wales.
