A cozy community cornerstone since 1990, this pub’s intimate old-school vibe invites guests to sit back, sip and socialize. Look up and you’ll notice that the ceiling is a canopy of some 4,500 pewter mugs belonging to regulars who have drank their way to the end of a beer list featuring 60 distinct brews. With nary a fryer in sight – even their chicken wings are grilled – and a host of vegetarian and gluten-free choices, Porters’ dishes out progressive pub fare with a commitment to local sourcing.

Dinner includes elevated entrees like the 7th Street Jambalaya – sautéed chicken, Andouille sausage, jumbo shrimp, peppers, and mushrooms in a fiery Creole sauce over dirty rice – and the Scottish Salmon – pan-seared and covered with lemon caper butter sauce atop orechiette pasta in white wine sauce, while lunch and Sunday brunch-goers can sample an array of appetizers, savory sandwiches, and even five different styles of Eggs Benedict.
