THE VIBE
House, an expertly refurbished 100-year-old farmhouse features multiple intimate, effortlessly chic dining rooms on the first and second floors. Barn is more casual, with exposed beams, original barn artifacts, and a killer draft list, giving it a refined rustic vibe. Both have patios with plenty of whimsical overhead string lighting that overlook a tree-lined Leibert’s Creek.
THE DISH
The Duck entreé at House does not disappoint. Tender, seared breast meat is accompanied by goat-cheese filled raviolis, sweet potato hash seasoned with cumin and chili, and grilled radicchio. A tangy-sweet lemon cranberry gastrique ties it all together. If you find yourself here for the Sunday brunch, go for the Chicken and Waffles, a perfect sweet-savory-crispy combo finished off with the (dare-we-say genius?) bacon powdered sugar.
WHAT’S NEW
Warm weather brings in fresh local produce from farms like Wild Fox Farm, The Seed Farm, and Primordia Mushrooms. At House, watch for specials based around limited-quantity seasonal ingredients, or opt for the Meat and Cheese Plate, which often features a pickled seasonal vegetable.
MUST-TRY
Head over to Barn for some out-of-this-world nachos—the perfect happy hour snack—piled high with smoked pulled pork, pickled jalapeños, aged manchego cheese, heirloom tomatoes, and sour cream. Rest assured, not a single chip is jipped of toppings.
