The wide wrap-around bar is, in fact, a favorite spot for dining. Tuck into a bowl of signature She Crab Soup, share a massive plate of Chacho’s Grande – premise-made potato chips smothered with white bean chicken chili, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños and sour cream – or savor a hearty entrée like Cranberry Glazed Pork Chops with Butternut Squash Hash. Comfort food and a comfortable atmosphere are house specialties at Widow’s.

An array of martinis, draught beers and house-made sangria pack palate appeal, but the classic Moscow Mule cocktail earns points for visual appeal: A gleaming copper mug brimming with icy Russian Standard Vodka and ginger beer is an intoxicating sight.

Veteran restaurateur Jody Stahley is always scouting new ways to delight customers, from sociable events and dining specials to business lunch delivery service. However, Marvin, the resident ghost, remains a key attraction. “Everyone’s always looking around for him,” she says. Of course, Marvin gets upstaged each Wednesday and Saturday evening when live music rocks the house.
