- “My definition of comfort food encompasses world cuisine and is a reflection of America’s melting pot,” says Chef/Owner Domenico Lombardo of The Mint’s signature contemporary comfort food menu. “This generation is used to everything being comfort food—not just traditional Americana meatloaf and mashed potatoes—and that’s my approach.”
- Psst! The gastropub opens early one Sunday every month for brunch. The menu is never the same, but you’ll always find some twist on Eggs Benedict, a type of steak and eggs, and something sweet. Check their Facebook page and website for details.
- A pure approach to the versatile veggie, Roasted Butternut Squash is served in a skillet with toasted pumpkin seeds, creamy goat cheese, and oven-dried tomatoes for a straight-forward and delicious seasonal snack.
- This Chicken Mole dinner is straight out of a Mexican cocina. The recipe was created after six months of research on authentic mole, and it takes 72 hours to make. The Mint puts a modern spin on it by using sous-vide chicken (traditional preparation calls for boiled poultry) with an accompaniment of pickled sofrito: onions, peppers, and garlic.
- A makeover of classic Oysters Rockefeller proves that sometimes the remake is better than the original. Fried oysters in spinach Parmesan fondue topped with pickled onions and Japanese tobiko? Yes, yes, and yes. Oh, and it goes by Oysters Rock-A-Fella now.
