Born and raised outside of Guadalajara, co-owners Alejandro Ramirez and Miguel de la Torre ventured north to bring a little bit of Mexico to the Lehigh Valley. Tequila House is an upscale spot for Mexican cuisine with 26 specialty margaritas varieties spanning from Cinnamon to Chipotle Pineapple. And, with a top-shelf tequila tasting menu, the pair has certainly earned the “tequila house” moniker.
If it’s my first time, what should I order? Go for the Tequila Shrimp appetizer, which is ideal for sharing. After being sautéed with garlic, red onions, and guajillo chiles, the shrimp gets a tequila flambé. Or, try the Tuna Tacos, Queso Fundido or Beef Empanadas, each is authentic and full of flavor.
What does the owner eat? Ramirez always gets one of the restaurant’s signature dishes, Salmon Glazed with agave. The agave glaze is made with Mezcal and a housemade cinnamon chipotle blend that delivers a coveted sweet and savory blend. He suggests pairing it with any of the Argentinian or Chilean wines he serves.
What’s the secret to perfect guacamole? According to Ramirez, it’s all about starting with perfectly ripe avocados, and, of course, you need fresh ingredients so the flavors really pop. At Fiesta Ole, the guacamole is made to order from scratch right at your table.
What are we drinking? A new Jose Cuervo Tower is exactly what it sounds like: a seven-serving tower of Jalapeño Rosemary Margaritas. In addition to Argentinian and Chilean wines, at the bar you will find 46 different tequilas, and Mexican and
domestic beer.
