THE DISH
The pan-seared Caribbean Red Snapper—served with mango chutney, thin slices of perfectly crisp plantains, dark rum sauce, and a root vegetable medley of yams, parsnips, celery root, and carrots—tastes like summer on a plate. This hearty portion will definitely fill you up, but save room for dessert! The Crème Brulee of the Week topped with seasonal fruit is divine.
FUN FACT
Ingredients from local growers and producers are all over this seasonally inspired menu. Microgreens are procured from Groff’s Micro Greens in New Tripoli, while meats come from sustainable, “Pennsylvania Proud” farms in Lancaster, and a pot of Bethlehem-brewed Monocacy Coffee is always percolating for Sunday brunch. Even the Faber spirits at the bar hail from just outside Quakertown, and all of the fresh herbs are grown on site.
SIP ON THIS
For the cocktail crowd, the 1774 Cosmo made with grapefruit-infused vodka, is perfect for sipping on the covered outdoor patio. More of a beer drinker? You’re in luck! Funk Brewing has actually created a delightfully drinkable Belgian-style beer exclusively for the restaurant called The 1774.
MUST TRY
The 1774 French Jazz Brunch, featuring a live jazz band, is a perfectly decadent way to end the weekend. The only conundrum: Do you choose the Fluffy French Omelet or the Sweet Crepes stuffed with vanilla pastry cream? The $12 bottomless mimosas are a no-brainer.
