Satisfy crustacean cravings with classics – Chilled Gulf Shrimp Cocktail and Shrimp Po’ Boys – or new favorites like Bang-Bang Style Shrimp and Sea Scallops Stuffed with Shrimp Mousse. America’s favorite seafood also plays well with other aquatic tastes and makes appearances in Paella, Seafood Fra Diablo, Ceviche, and an ever-changing variety of soups and chowders. 

In Our History

Situated in a quiet West End Allentown neighborhood, the handsome New England-inspired façade of Youell’s Oyster House blends seamlessly with vintage homes on the tree-lined street – though, in fact, this is a sparkling new eatery that literally rose from the ashes when a fire destroyed the restaurant in 2013. The history of the business stretches back more than a century to an original location in Easton, and the “new” Youell’s gives a nod to the past with a warmly inviting vintage-inspired interior – more bright and spacious than previously – that also speaks to modern sensibilities. The expanded bar now divides the two dining rooms, and a mezzanine level provides dining with a view.   

With the Owner

An optimist who found opportunity in disaster, Christian Filipos is proud to combine tradition with contemporary tastes at the new Youell’s. “We still have our house specialty crab cakes, but there’s also gastro-pub fare for casual dining,” he says.
